In the course of our three weeks in Ireland, we collected a number of flags, scarves, programs, and of course, gaelic games sporting equipment to bring home and share with our American friends. With any luck, we will soon formally display this items at an exhibition accompanying the premiere screening of “Playing Irish.” In the meantime, take a look at some of things we brought back with us from Ireland, including the hurls, jerseys, and gaelic football we used/played with in our Broadcasts from Dublin.
- Our boxed collection of materials from our time in Ireland.
- Our hurls. The red one is 34 inches long and the blue one is 35. Both made by Torpey’s
- Our intercounty O’Neills Gaelic Football. Bought in Dublin for 18 euro.
- Zack bought a Dublin Team Polo at Arnott’s in Dublin for around 30 euro as a present to himself
- Colleen bought herself a Nemo Rangers jersey while we were touring the clubhouse.
- We always bought a scarf when we went to a game, giving Galway, Dublin, and Kilkenny colors
- Two books we bought on the history and playing of gaelic games.
- Programs for the Leinster Senior Football Championship (4 euro) and the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship (5 euro)
- Another view of the scarfs and their labels. Note the “Hill 16 Only” reference on the Dublin scarf.
- Cork Spread, with county flag and a Nemo Rangers jersey.
- A Spread of our Dublin gear, including a county flag, scarf, and team polo shirt.
